Course Objective |
To reach reliable sources about the structure of Islamic thought intellectually and scientifically; to study theological and philosophical thoughts objectively; to overcome dangerous reductionist views and simplifications that arise in several claims about Islamic thoughts; in this field, to gain historical, cultural, theological, philosophical and scientific broaden of view. Overall, to review every kind of schools and movements that that built Islamic thought and how they are founded, developed, the methods that they used, basic terms and views of them, and their theological and philosophical backgrounds; and finally to clarify what they mean for contemporary people of today's world. |

The students can approach analytically and critically to the knowledge that they have learned about these schools and thought movements, their foundation, developing periods and important stages the schools evolved, as well as to their methods, problems and their relations and links to each other. And the students could clarify what all these means to the contemporary people. |
Assessment Criteria |
The students will be assessed based on success in their mid-term and final exams along with their performance during the classes throughout the semester. |
