Course Objective

Being aware of linguistics like Halil b. Ahmad, Sibeveyh from Basra school and their Works; Making knowledgeable about the formation, evolution and main schools methods and features of the Arabic language grammar. Being aware of the ideas of Ferdinand de Saussure, Levi Straus, Noam Chomsky, Roman Jakopson, Sigmund Freud, Jacques Lacan, Michel Foucault and Jacques Derrida about language

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Has a knowledge about the contribition of the muslim linguistics to arabic language grammar
2   Has a knowledge about muslim linguistics and their schools
3   Has a general knowledge about Basras, Kufe, Baghdad, Egypt, Andalusia School's formation, method and basic features.
4   Has a knowledge about modern language schools.
5   Has a general knowledge about modern language schools foundation, method and basic features
