Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide the necessary knowledge and skills to understand the existence, development, and future of sustainable tourism, by establishing the relationship between tourism and the environment which is the most fundamental element of tourism.

Assessment Criteria

1. The course will be evaluated with a midterm exam and a final grade.
2. One article will be written as a term paper during the semester. This study will replace the final exam.
3. Presentations of the term's article will be made on the specified day and time.
4. Each student will analyze current articles published in the peer-reviewed journal according to a predetermined schedule.

Submission of Term paper and Presentation on Time: Submission of term paper on the due date and presentations on time. (5 points)
Readability, Comprehensibility, Presentation Order, Citation and Bibliography of the Term paper and Presentation: The assignment and presentation are written in an academic language and are understandable. The presentation layout has been made. References are given where necessary in each slide and a bibliography is included at the end of the presentation. (10 points)
Tone control when making a presentation, presentation skills and mastery of the subject: The tone of voice when making a presentation should be such that the class can hear it, the presentation should be made without reading and it should be done with a mastery of the subject. (5 points)
Research Subject: The research subjec tmust coincide with the content of the course, be on current topics and be original. (10 points)
Aim of the Research: The aim of the research should be stated in a clear, understandable, and relevant. (10 points)
Definition of the Research Problem: The problem of the research should be determined in accordance with the subject and purpose and should be original. (15 points)
Literature Review: A detailed literature review on the subject should be made, and current articles should be examined and used databases such as WOS. (20 points)
Determination of Methodology: The methodology should be written. It should be written in a way that is relevant to the subject and appropriate to the structure of the problem, and the appropriate research method should be specified. (10 points)
Determining the Conclusion: The result of the research should be given in relation to the research problem and evaluated with the literature. (10 points)
Development of Recommendations: Original recommendations related to the conclusion should be developed for future studies. (5 points)

1. It is obligatory to attend at least 70% of the classes.
2. Violations of Plagiarism of any kind will result in disciplinary steps being taken.
3. Students should prepare for each class.
4. Homework and presentation should prepared and submitted accroding to format given by the instructor.
5. Any type of electronic device should be kept off during classes.
