Course Objective |
Türkiye, Mediterranean country with many natural and historical landscapes, is located on the intersection point of the yachting routes. The maritime tourism along Anatolian coast which are the birthplace of many civilizations has a great potential increasing day by day. In a relatively short period, Türkiye has gained experiences in all aspect of the marine tourism: Yachting tourism, marine ecotourism, cruie tourism, diving, yacht docks, marinas, repair and maintenance facilities for yachts, training of crews, Museum for underwater archeology and maritime history, etc. The sea offers may opportunities for recreation and tourism purposes and in practical terms it is a source of food and transport. Marine Tourism, as a rapidly developing sector in Türkiye, is suffering insufficient quality and quantity of educated personal despite of its strong infrastructure. To introduce the characteristics and sustainable forms of sector is the main aim of the course. |

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods |
The course is taught in a lecture, class presentation and discussion format. Besides taught lecture, students are required to report and present their research study carried on during the term. |

Attendance: Student are required to attend every class. Attendance will be taken at the beginning of the each class. Plagiarism: Plagiarism will b ereported to Academic Judiciary Board and can result in getting zero on the assignments / exams and failing the course. Late assignments: All assignments are due at the beginning of the class. The extentions will not b e granted. Accommodations: Students are required to let the instructor know any special accommodations needed due to learning disabilities, medical needs, etc. |
