Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide students with further knowledge about medical terminology and enable them to use medical terminology more effectively. This will allow students to communicate more effectively in the medical community and while working with medical documents.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Ability to understand and use terminology used in medical documents.
2   Knowledge about hospital and laboratory terminology.
3   Ability to define terms used for medical procedures and operations.
4   Understanding of terminology related to medical tools and equipment.
5   Knowledge about medication terminology.
6   Knowledge about patient evaluation terminology.
7   Providing a general overview of medical coding systems.
8   Knowledge about medical ethics and legal terms.
9   Understanding of terminology used in medical research.
10   Understanding of terminology used for medical communication and reporting.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The course will be delivered with an approach that encompasses both theoretical and practical aspects. Students will be provided with presentations, interactive discussions, group work, and analysis of medical documents. The course will also include individual and group work to enable students to apply the terminology in daily medical scenarios and case studies.
