Course Objective

The aim of this course is to raise awareness of architecture students about climate change, which is the biggest universal problem of our time, and to discuss what can be done to mitigate and adapt to the problem in an individual context. In addition, it is to determine what can be done to protect our cultural heritage against the negative effects of climate change.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to explain the basic concepts of environment, historical environment, cultural heritage, weather, climate, climate change.
2   To be able to explain the studies on climate change.
3   To be able to discuss climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts.
4   To be able to evaluate the effects of climate change on cultural heritage.
5   To be able to communicate a research on climate change and cultural heritage in visual, written and oral form using up-to-date technologies.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Dialectic method, structuralist method and comparative method are considered to be used.
The student is expected participating in the course actively.
