Course Objective

The aim of the course is to explain the concept of Modern Architectural Heritage, which is one of the current problems of the conservation area, through its definition, scope, quality, legislation, and conservation practices and to discuss it through national building examples.
For this purpose,within the scope of the course, the basic concepts and historical process of the contemporary conversation approach will be briefly explained; afterwards the definition, scope, and quality of Modern Architectural Heritage will be examined from national and international perspectives and conservation problems will be discussed through legislation and examples.
Students will be expected to propose a building/building group/site to be evaluated within the scope of Modern Architectural Heritage in the light of the information they have acquired, to explain the values of their proposals that fall within the scope of heritage, and to address conservation problems.

Assessment Criteria

Within the parameters of the assignment, students are required to propose a building/building group/site proposal that they have examined as a Modern Architectural Heritage. Additionally, there will be a question related to their assignment in final exam.
