Course Objective

The objective is to inform the future architects about Mediterranean Houses, discuss and think about architectural similarities of these historical houses.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Ability to discuss on the architectural language of Mediterranean Countries.
2   Ability to define the architectural similarities in Mediterranean houses.
3   Ability to compare the residences in Aegean and Mediterranean Regions with the ones located in Mediterranean Countries.
4   Ability to compare the houses of Mediterranean Countries.
5   Ability to analyze the houses of Mediterranean Countries.
6   Ability to explain the houses of Mediterranean Countries using examples.
7   Ability to interpret the houses of Mediterranean Countries.
8   Ability to communicate a research about Mediterranean Houses in visual, written and oral form by using up-to-date technology.

Informational aspect of learning outcomes (LO2) are measured by mid-term and final exam, while comprehension aspect (LO1) is measured by mid-term, final exam and assignment; application aspect (LO6, LO8) is measured by final exam, assignment and class participation; analysis aspect (LO3, LO4, LO5) is measured by final exam and class participation; evaluation aspect (LO7) is measured by mid-term, final exam, and class participation.
Evaluation regarding the class participation shall be determined by student's attendance, active participation in the discussions during the class and qualitative contribution in this context.
