Course Objective

In this course, it s aimed to discuss the interaction of human psychology with the physical and social environment through environmental psychology and urban design disciplines.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of this course, the students are expected 1. to learn the concepts and principles of environmental psychology.
2   2. to list the psychological, architectural and geographical variables that effects the perception of the environment.
3   3. to interpret the methods that analyse human and environment interactions.
4   4. to analyse the relation between environmental psychology and urban design.
5   5. to evaluate the effects of existing urban environments on human psychology within the scope of the principles that are learnt in the course.

Assessment Criteria

Learning and Listing will be evaluated by the Midterm Evaluation (%30). Analysis and Interpretation will be evaluated by Homework (%30). Interpretation, Analysis and Evaluation will be evaluated by the Final Exam (%40).
A midterm exam will be held throughout the semester and an assignment will be expected to be submitted. At assignment, student groups will be formed and a group work will be expected.
In the evaluation of homework presentation, it is mandatory for the student to submit and present the homework on the official dates. The students who do not present their homework on the official date will not be evaluated even if they've submitted their homework.
