Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to understand the importance of the problem of climate change; to integrate the politics of climate change mitigation and adaptation with urban planning; and thus to gain a planner perspective that is sensitive to climate and related subjects.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of this course, the students are expected 1. Recognize the problem of climate change,
2   2. Recognize the role of urban settlement in production of grenhouse gases,
3   3. Critize the impacts of current planning process on micro climate,
4   4. Recognize the climate change mitigation politics and strategies,
5   5. Recognize the climate change adaptation politics and strategies,
6   6. Develop suggestions and criteria for climate-friendly urban land use plans.
