Course Objective

The course is designed to analyze the post-world configuration of international economic issues since World War II. The analysis focuses on the economic policies and institutions designed to manage international trade and financial and monetary affairs.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Get familiar with the global institutions designed to manage international trade and monetary affairs, in order to understand the world economic order especially after WW2.
2   Have a better understanding of the background of globalisation process.
3   Assess the impact of the ongoing globalization process on the economic growth, development and welfare of nations.
4   Develop individual ideas on past and modern problems regarding international economic relations and policies and express these ideas orally and written.
5   Apply advanced analytical tools in order to understand economic policy problems.

there are 2 assignments in this course each worths 20 points. These assignments consist of two parts. First part will be an original essay stating students own analysis which worths 10 points. The second part which worths 10 points as well, will be given for the 5 minutes presentation of the essay. Due dates are stated on course outline. No late assignments.

2. The second assignment subject can be choosen from one of the topics studied in the classroom.
