Course Objective

1. To provide a deeper understanding of the development and institutionalization of Islamic education in history.
2. To examine Islamic understanding of science and the traditions, Qur'an and hadiths, which are the source to this understanding.
3. To examine the development of Islamic education in the Mecca and Medina period starting from the time of Prophet Muhammad.
4. To evaluate the educational developments and institutionalization after Prophet Muhammad in Islamic education.
5. To analyze the establishment, development and closing processes of madrasahs, which are one of the most important elements of formal religious education.
