Course Objective

The aim of this course is to introduce the theoretical aspects of religious counseling to students by explaining the theoretical and practical background of it; to show students the areas of religious counseling and to gain counseling principles and skills appropriate to each of these areas.


Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students; Know the theoretical and practical aspects of religious counselling and guidence,
2   Explain the relationship between religious counseling and guidance, and describe the basic concepts,
3   Analyze the socio-cultural and religious reasons that make religious counselling and guidance a need,
4   Recognize the relationship between religion and communication and comprehends the characteristics of religious communication,
5   Gain effective communication skills on religious counseling and guidance.

6 Revelation and Prophet Muhammad in Relation to Guidance
7 Religious and Psychological Counselling as a Guidance in Religious Services
8 Religious Officer as a Counsellor
9 Target Groups and Their Characteristics in Religious Service
10 The Basic Paradigm for Effective Religious Counselling: Character Ethics
11 Communication and Its Barriers in Religious Services
12 Principles and Methods of Communication in Religious Services
13 The Basic Skills of Communication for Effective Religious Counselling: Therapeutic Dialogue
14 General Revision: Religious Guidance and Counselling in Social Services.
