Course Objective

After Mughal (Baburids) had taken Delhi, the journey of Islamic Art in Indian sub-continent has gained many innovative formula. The aim of this class is to study stylistic features of the early, classical and late periods of the era (1526-1858), called Mughal art in Turkish-Islamic art history.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students get knowledge about basic concepts and terms regarding Mughal art.
2   They learn the birth of Mughal styles and its historical references.
3   They understand the second era of Indian Islamic Art (1526-1858) in the aspects of quality and quantity.
4   They learn the contribution of the Mughal period to Turkic and Islamic art.
5   They get information about Indian behaviour of Turkic and Islamic arts.
