Course Objective

It is aimed to analyze religious and cultural basis of purification and enligtenment in the various Religions. Students will get knowledge how it is possible to reach purification and enligtenment in the Abrahamic and Indian Religions. It is aimed to teach the necessary practices to achieve salvation.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students shall learn the salvation theories in religions. 2   Students shall learn the messianic concept in Judaism. 3   Students shall learn the theory of original sin and the ways of salvation from it in Christianity. 4   Students shall learn the concept of avatara in Hinduism. 5   Students shall learn the technigues of yoga ve meditation.

Week Subject Description 1 Introduction: The aims and sources of the lecture 2 The process of creation of man in Jewish scriptures 3 The emergence of the Messiah in Judaism and its development 4 Some practices that protect people from sin in Judaism 5 The theory of original sin in Christianity 6 The confession of sins in Christianity 7 Salvation of man in Christianity 8 Salvation of man in Hinduizm 9 The concept of avatara in Hinduism 10 Some avatara examples in Hindu scriptures 11 Yoga technigue in Hinduism 12 Salvation theory in Buddhism 13 Meditation in Buddhism 14 Yoga and meditation practices in the modern world
