Course Objective

The main objective of this course is to put forward the theological ideas of Mu'tazila, which is considered the founders of Kalam. In doing so, it aims more correctly to describe the opinions and believes of the theologians of Mu'tazila, comparing with each other.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   will learn the basic difficulties which Kalam encountered in modern period .
2   will recognize the critics and basic foundations of opposition to the Kalam.
3   will find opportunity to make comparison between modern and classical methodologies of Kalam.
4   will understand the new insights concerning the Kalam, in modern era.
5   will learn the basic orientations of the modern period of Kalam.
