Course Objective

To enable students to obtain general information about examples of Ottoman texts that they may encounter in later years; The aim of the course is to provide necessary information about text commentary and text analysis and to improve the skills of reading and understanding old texts. On the other hand, thanks to this course, it is aimed to reveal that there are not only religious texts in Arabic or Persian (Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh, Sufism etc.), but also Turkish religious texts are extremely abundant, and to introduce students to these texts before graduating from the faculty.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Will know the religious works written by Turkish scholars.
2   Will know the literary works written by Turkish men of letters.
3   Will be aware of the contributions of Turks into Islam.
4   Will gain the ability of reading, understanding, and benefiting from religious-literary texts.
5   Will be able to read text tombstone, the inscription, plate ... and so on.
