Course Objective

With this course, students will be able to
-Gain knowledge of non-formal and adult religious education,
-Understand chronologically the religious education processes of adults through non-formal religious education,
-Distinguish the social processes during the transition from non-formal religious education to formal religious education,
-Gain knowledge of today's non-formal and adult religious education processes,
-Recognize institutions providing non-formal and adult religious education,
-Make analyzes in determining new needs related to non-formal and adult religious education.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The students will be able to learn the basic concepts related to non-formal religious education.
2   The students will be able to recognize the employment opportunities of non-formal and adult religious education in the context of religious services.
3   The students will be able to have detailed information about the processes of non-formal and adult religious education.
4   The students will be able to have knowledge about the structure and functioning of non-formal religious education institutions.
5   The students will be able to understand the subject, purpose and importance of non-formal and adult religious education.

3 Definition, purpose, importance and target group of non-formal religious education
4 An overview of the historical development of non-formal religious education
5 First period non-formal religious education practices and detailed analysis
6 Methods and techniques in non-formal religious education
7 Means of non-formal religious education: Khutbahs, sermons, Qur'an courses, Central counseling teams, Conferences, panels and symposiums, Mass media
8 Possibilities and problems of non-formal religious education
9 Institutions and organizations providing non-formal religious education
10 Directorate of Religious Affairs and its affiliated institutions
11 Mosques and Quran Teaching Centers
12 Religious Education in the Family
13 Quran Courses
14 The contribution of non-formal religious education to the realization of the objectives of non-formal education
