Course Objective

The aim of this course is to learn how the children are protected through legal measure in Türkiye and to provide information about social work law and child protection system

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Having knowledge on fundamental principles of Turkish child protection system and social work law.
2   Having knowledge on child protection measures and orders in Turkish Civil Code.
3   Knowing fundamental rules and principles concerning child protection and support orders in Child Protection Act 5395.
4   Knowing rights and duties of juvenile courts in Turkish child protection system.
5   Learning fundamental rules, principles and construction of Turkish social work
6   Learning principal rules and procedures of protection and support services (adoption foster care) provided by Turkish Social Services
7   Learning principal rules and procedures of protection and support services provided by International Social Services

7 Juvenile courts, case law and practice
8 U.N Convention on the Rights of the Child and general principles of the Convention concerning child protection
9 Children in need of protection and social services models.
