Course Objective

The aim of the course is to define the cultural processes that developed in the Near East from the Paleolithic Age, when man produced the first tools, to the end of the Epipaleolithic Period, in the light of architecture, burial traditions and small finds.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Ability to explain the types of people who lived in the given geography.
2   To be able to clarify the environmental and intercultural relations of the Paleolithic cultural phases that developed in the Near East.
3   Be able to make detailed descriptions of the Paleolithic settlements that developed in the Near East.
4   Be able to describe Paleolithic Tool Technology in the Near East.
5   Ability to identify raw materials used in the Prehistoric period in the Near East

5 5. Human species living in the Lower and Middle Paleolithic ages, their relationships with climate and settlements
6 6. Human species living in the Upper Paleolithic and Epipaleolithic ages, their relationships with climate and settlements
