Course Objective

Sociological and cultural examination of the use of music, instruments and other instruments of various cultures/civilizations from the prehistoric period to the Roman Empire in social life, social classification, nutrition and shelter, professional groups, folk heroes and criminals, myths and legends, and the effects of these examples on artistic life. To ensure that students recognize it correctly.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Having knowledge of the music, instruments and other tools of different civilizations
2   Be able to define the role of Sound and Music in society
3   Being able to identify the differences between social classes in music and instruments
4   To be able to define the relationship between need/optional use of music, instruments and other tools.
5   To be able to relate the role of music, instruments and other tools in society to art.
6   To be able to define the use of music, instruments and other tools in the creation of culture.
7   To be able to evaluate the theoretical knowledge regarding the use of music, instruments and other instruments from past periods in the light of the knowledge gained in the application areas.
