Course Objective

This course aims to make students to acquire knowledge about phonetics, and to learn what physical properties of speech sounds are, how they are transmitter in air, and how they are perceived.

Assessment Criteria

1- Learning outcomes 1, 2 and 3 will be evaluated via the questions asked in the mid-term and final exams.
2-Learning outcomes 4 and 5 will be evaluated via laboratory work.

The students will also be assessed with regard to participation and overall attitude during lectures. The assesment will be graded via Lecture Activity Assesment sections in the VISA and FINAL exams.

1. 70% class attendance is obligatory.
2. Absence from classes will not be considered as an excuse for late submission of the homework assignments/projects.
3. Cheating and plagiarism attempts in assignments and exams will be evaluated with a 0 (zero) grade.
