Course Objective

The aim of this course is to enhance prospective teachers' theoretical knowledge and pedagogical competencies related to science education. Within this scope, the course addresses the nature of science, technology, scientific knowledge, and the scientific method; science and technology literacy; the interrelationships among science, technology, society, and the environment; the objectives of science education; the historical development of science education in Turkey and around the world; the constructivist learning approach; the fundamental characteristics of the primary school science curriculum and its integration with other subjects; and the development of scientific process skills through sample instructional practices. The course ultimately aims to support prospective teachers in developing a holistic understanding of and competence in effective science teaching.

3   Developing positive attitudes toward the fields of science, technology, and the environment

7   Designing and developing various instructional materials and tools utilized in teaching processes
