Course Objective

The aim of this course is to educate individuals who know contemporary teaching methods in the field of visual arts education, who can apply special and general teaching methods to visual arts teaching, who can critically analyze the sources of visual arts teaching and who can benefit from visual arts education teaching techniques and written-visual sources.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Know the general aims, necessity and importance of visual arts education. 2   Know basic and special purposes of visual arts education. 3   Know the history and theories of visual arts education. 4   Know the methods, techniques, tools and materials used in teaching visual arts. 5   Know how to teach the basic areas (aesthetics, art criticism, art history, applied studies) in teaching visual arts. 6   Gain the ability to apply visual arts teaching methods.

Why is visual arts education necessary Place and importance of visual arts and technology education in general education. 2 What can be done for an effective Visual Arts Education course in Türkiye Basic and special purposes of visual arts education. 3 Misconceptions about Visual Arts Education. 4 History of Visual Arts Education. Art history and philosophy in the world and Türkiye. 19th century revolutions, Early Visual Arts Education, Romantic Idealism and Visual Arts Education. Visual Arts Education in the 19th Century Britain. 5 Visual Arts Education in the West in the 20th Century; general education philosophies, Visual Arts Education before and after World War I, Great depression before World War II. Visual Arts and Design Education in the 20th century Britain, Visual Arts Education after World War II. 6 Discipline-based art education, (Discipline-based multi-art education). 7 Visual Arts Education in Türkiye; Pre-Republican era and Republican era Visual Arts Education, Political and social depression and Visual Arts Education.
