Course Objective

The aim of this course is to learn the etiopathogenesis, differential diagnosis, diagnosis, and the principles of treatment for the cardiovascular and respiratory system diseases.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explain etiopathogenesis, plan diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary infections
2   Explain epidemiology, risk factors and pathophysiology, discuss diagnosis and treatment, apply preventive measures of asthma, perform diagnosis and treatment of acute attacks
3   Explain epidemiology, risk factors and pathophysiology, discuss diagnosis and treatment, apply preventive measures of COPD,
4   Be able to diagnose, stage lung cancer, govern its treatment, discuss risk factors
5   Discuss the epidemiology, pathogenesis, and treatment, apply preventive and control mechanisms for smoking and tobacco addiction
6   Explain epidemiology, risk factors and pathophysiology, perform diagnosis and treatment, discuss preventive measures of cardiovascular diseases
7   Explain etiopathogenesis, perform diagnosis, plan treatment of heart failure
8   Explain etiopathogenesis, perform differential diagnosis and diagnosis, plan treatment, discuss preventive measures of hypertension
9   Be able to diagnose surgical vascular diseases, govern their treatment, discuss preventive measures
10   Recognition, differential diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias

In the fourth years the assessments are done at the end of each block and minimum 60 is required to be successful.
DEUMF Rules and Regulations
Article 20
a) To take the OSCE and theoretical exams, task-end progress evaluations should be 60,Mid-Term Achievement Assessment (0%) and above for the 70% of the tasks in the block. The average of the task-end progress evaluations, OSCE and written exam grades should be all 60 and above and block end grade should be minimum 60 in order to be successful from the block.

Assessment Criteria

0In the forth years, the student success was evaluated on a yearly basis as an annual grade out of 100 points. The passing point of the period is determined as 60(sixty).

The success evaluation score for 4. class is calculated based on the rates of the exams mentioned below.
