Course Objective

Mycology is the science of mushrooms, miko means mushrooms, Logos " - science. Mushrooms, on the other hand, are a large group of living beings, totaling approximately more than 1,000,000 species. Mushrooms have a huge role in the life of humans and animals. They cause many diseases in plants and animals.
Fungi are characterized by a complex complex of their own unique criteria, such as morphological, physiological, biocomic, cellular ultrastructure, structure and organization of their genome, and although with a certain part of such criteria they are similar to other living beings, they are more remarkable for their uniqueness. The main goal of the discipline is the modern classification, structure, physiology, biochemistry, reproduction, ecology of fungi, their role in human life and nature.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. You need to know the classification of mushrooms. To determine the structural features and make a comparative analysis of higher and primitive fungi
2   2. Comparative analysis of the features of reproduction of mushrooms;
3   3. Features of the development of fungi in ontogenesis and in the process of evolution; to clarify the phylogenetic relationship between taxa to identify similar and distinctive features.;
4   At different stages of development, the taxonomy of fungi predominates. According to the level of knowledge, students should be able to use certain methods and techniques, from the development of technology when studying mushrooms.
5   5. The student must first know the morphological feature of the mushroom. Subsequently, the ontogenetic approach is of great importance. For this, it is especially important to determine the ontogenesis of a species at different stages of development. Recently, the ultrastructural approach has been developing. This also makes it possible to study the structure of mitochondrial crystals, intercellular pores, the structure of the fungal apparatus in the classification of fungi.
6   6. Biochemical differences in the composition of mushrooms by the student during the experiment information on chemotaxonomy is applied.
7   7. They must be able to identify both the pros and cons of certain genes in accordance with the taxonomy of fungi
8   The role of fungi in nature and human economic activity
9   Free work with a microscope; rules for handling mushroom culture; determining the sex, type of microscopic and macroscopic mushrooms; preparation of nutrient media for the cultivation of mushrooms
10   When performing laboratory work, the student must write the necessary notes, make drawings and answer questions on each topic in the process of independent work
11   The names of the taxonomic groups of mushrooms are given in the ancient language Latin. Latin names are given in accordance with the" International Code of botanical nomenclature
