Course Objective

Examining and discussing the history of the Art of Painting, from the Prehistoric periods (cave paintings) to the present, with a certain chronology, geographical and cultural dimensions, and the artistic activism of humanity in the life adventure within the cause-effect relationship.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 To be able to have and use the theoretical and applied knowledge that is the subject of student plastic arts education.
2 To have the practical skills needed to visualize observations and thoughts, and the ability to transform materials and ideas.
3 To have sufficient knowledge and systematic working practice to choose appropriate techniques and correct methods in the projected subject areas.
4 The original art approach; To have knowledge and equipment that it is a process acquisition that is reinforced by observation depending on original thought.
5 To have the theoretical knowledge necessary for art history, art theory and art criticism. In the development of works of art; To be able to use support from disciplines such as art tradition, art history, visual culture, art philosophy and art sociology.
6 To be able to have and use knowledge, skills and creativity in the production of works in accordance with contemporary art practices.

Recomended or Required Reading

In this lesson; midterm and final exam evaluation methods are applied. Assessment methods include the classical exam and multiple-choice exam. The midterm exam is 40% and the final exam is 60%, making up the passing weight percentage (100%). At least one midterm and final exam are given in written form for the course.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Examination of Primitive art examples in the historical process of Paleolithic, Mesolithic, Neolithic and Chalcolithic Periods.
