Course Objective

The aim of this course is to enable students to develop their translation skills and terminology in various types of texts such as texts on foreign trade, law, pyschology and to enable students to improve their skills in pre and postediting of translated texts. This course also aims to consolidate and deepen students' knowledge of translation and develop their analytical and critical skills.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students will be able to explain the characteristics of texts in various subject-fields.
2   Students will be able to explain the language, style and the terminology used in such texts.
3   Students will be able to identify the translation techniques and strategies used in the texts.
4   Students will be able to identify their translational decisions.
5   Students will be able to prepare for professional life where pre- and post-editing of translation texts is required.
