General Description

History

Dokuz Eylul University Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Econometrics was established in 1986. Data management and analysis Second Cycle Program is carried out by the Department of Econometrics, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. The Department of Econometrics conducts education and research on related subjects, by making use of mathematics, statistics and operations research, by analyzing various problems related to economics and business and making the most appropriate decisions. The language of instruction of the program is Turkish.

Specific Admission Requirements

First Cycle Degree in the same or in related disciplines, Transcript, Acceptable score on ALES (Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Exam) or Equivalent GRE, GMAT score. Acceptable score on Language Proficiency Tests. Acceptable weighted score based on the first cycle cumulative grade point average (GPA) and ALES score. The exceptions to the requirements of ALES and Foreign Language Proficiency scores is announced by the Graduate School. However, ALES requirement is waived for the admissions to the second cycle graduate programs offered by the Conservatory and the departments of Fine Arts Faculty, where students are admitted only by the Artistic Aptitude Test as well as for the graduates of doctorate /arts proficiency/medical residency/ dental residency/ veterinary residency/ pharmaceutical residency programs. Final admission is based on the evaluation of the related academic unit committee. International student admission requirements are decided by the Graduate School Executive Committee.

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)

The student's application showing the course contents and the transcript, the recommendation of the advisor, the opinion of the department chair and the institute management, based on the petition regarding which of the courses that the student took while enrolled in the graduate program of another university and was successful after enrolling in the same graduate program at the same university, should be counted from the minimum course load. determined by the decision of the board. The courses taken by the students participating in the exchange programs from the host university are considered as elective or compulsory courses.

Profile of the Programme

The Department of Econometrics, which conducts the Data Management and Analysis Master's Program at Dokuz Eylul University Social Sciences Institute, continues its education and training activities with its teaching staff consisting of 5 Professors, 6 Associate Professors, 1 Doctoral Faculty Member and 5 Research Assistants. In the Econometrics Department, there are two seminar rooms and a wireless network connection in the rooms. The language of the courses offered in the program is Turkish.

Course Structure Diagram with Credits

Courses in the Data Management and Analysis master's program are compulsory and optional, and students who successfully complete the courses in 2 semesters are required to write and succeed in the thesis in their final semester. There are no prerequisites for taking the courses. In the courses of the program, the ability to benefit from other disciplines that form the basis of Econometrics, Operations Research and Statistics and to have advanced knowledge about these disciplines are gained.

Graduation Requirements

Second Cycle (Masters Degree) Program with thesis is comprised of courses (at least 56 ECTS), a seminar (2 ECTS) and field study (2 ECTS) and thesis (60 ECTS), in total 120 ECTS credits. Students must have minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50/4.00 and completed all the courses with at least CB/ S / TP grades.
