Course Objective

The objective of this course is to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to effectively prepare Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and transition plans for individuals with special needs. The course covers legal regulations, planning processes, and collaborative implementation methods.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Defines the Individualized Education Program (IEP) and its legal framework.
2   Identifies the components involved in the IEP development process.
3   Uses assessment tools to identify the student's needs.
4   Establishes appropriate annual goals and short-term objectives based on learning outcomes.
5   Manages the IEP meeting process and applies multidisciplinary team collaboration.
6   Explains the scope and function of transition plans.
7   Develops transition goals for independent living, vocational skills, and social participation.
8   Communicates effectively with families, teachers, and specialists and involves them in the planning process.
