Course Objective

The aim of this course is to define the special education needs of children aged 0 8 who are at risk for developmental delays or who already display such delays; to understand the importance of early intervention programs for these children; and to provide knowledge and skills related to family-centered approaches and interdisciplinary teamwork. The course offers both theoretical and practical knowledge on the principles of special education in early childhood, legal regulations, assessment methods, and implementation strategies.

2   Explains the key concepts and significance of early intervention.
3   Identifies assessment procedures and tools for children at developmental risk.
4   Demonstrates understanding of family-centered service models.

7   Discusses the ethical and legal aspects of early intervention services.
