Course Objective

This course aims to explore the relationship between nature and art in depth, and to enable students to develop their own thoughts and projects on this subject.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1- Understanding the representation of nature in art and design processes.
2   2- Being able to evaluate the variability and transformation of nature in art and design processes.
3   3- Grasping how sustainability and environmental consciousness can be integrated into art and design.
4   4- Developing creative and innovative projects by combining nature with art and design.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 1- Introduction. Brief information about the course and a general introduction to the relationship between nature and art. 11- Development and implementation process of projects.
2 2- The relationship between nature and humans, its historical and cultural dimensions. The psychological and emotional effects of nature on humans. 12- Development and implementation process of projects.
3 3- The influence of nature on artists and nature as a source of inspiration. Examples of famous artists inspired by nature (Caspar David Friedrich, Claude Monet, Georgia O'Keeffe). 13- Presentation of projects.
4 4- Traces of artists on nature (Robert Smithson, Richard Long, Andy Goldsworthy, Christo and Jeanne-Claude). 14- General evaluation of the course and assessment of student performance.
5 5- Nature and sustainable art. The use of natural materials and the importance of recyclable art.
6 6- Preparation of project studies focusing on the relationship between humans and nature.
7 7- Development and implementation process of projects.
8 8- Development and implementation process of projects.
