Course Objective

1. Gaining basic knowledge about strategic management and policy deployment.
2. Determining the location of quality management in strategic objectives of the organizations and to making consciousness of quality is an integral part of the strategy.
3. Developing strategy and compatible quality policies and gaining knowledge and skills about how to carry out the plans and activities which are necessary for the implementation of these policies.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To know the concepts of Strategic Planning and Strategic Management.
2   To be aware of the operations to be executed to develop strategies and policies.
3   To be aware of the integral position of the quality management in strategic management.
4   To know how to create and perform quality-related strategic objectives
5   To know the concepts of change management which are needed to be done to achieve quality objectives.

1. Lectures and Classroom Discussions: Lectures are designed to convey topics through presentations, reinforcing understanding with examples and classroom discussions.
2. Assignments and Projects: Individual and group article reviews, case study analyses, and presentations on weekly discussion topics will be required.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

Mid-term and end-of-term examinations will feature questions aimed at evaluating students' knowledge and reasoning skills related to the concepts and topics covered throughout the term.
Mid-term assignments will include individual and group article reviews, case study analyses, and presentations on weekly discussion topics.

Assessment Criteria

1. Midterm and Final Exams aim to assess students' understanding of fundamental concepts and their critical thinking skills regarding topics discussed throughout the term.
Exams will be assessed based on the following criteria: conceptual knowledge (30%), critical thinking and analytical reasoning (40%), transfer of examples and references (20%), and academic language and clarity of expression (10%).
2. Term Work includes assessment of individual and group article reviews, case study analyses, and presentations on weekly discussion topics.
Works and presentations will be assessed based on the following criteria: depth of subject matter and command of the literature (25%), critical evaluation and originality (25%), structure, referencing, and academic integrity (20%), presentation skills and visual support (15%), and time management and compliance with submission requirements (15%).
3. Attendance and participation in class discussions will be considered in the assessments.

Course Policies and Rules

1. Students must attend a minimum of 70% of classes to fulfill attendance requirements.
2. All content submitted must be based on the students' own research. While artificial intelligence tools (Chat GPT, MS Copilot, etc.) can assist in content development, they should be utilized ethically. Content that relies entirely on artificial intelligence will be considered plagiarism.
3. Any instance of plagiarism will result in disciplinary action.
4. Missing class will not be accepted as a valid reason for submitting assignments late.
