Course Objective

In the course on Child Protection in Sports, the child's right to rest, to spend his/her free time, to play, to participate freely and fully in physical and cultural activities appropriate for his/her age will be discussed in the context of fundamental rights. Interactive suggestions will be developed for the development of protection policies in sports and the creation of safe and inclusive sports areas in order to establish the sports environment within the framework of these principles.

1   Learns basic concepts related to Child Protection in Sports
2   Understands how violence in sports is institutionalized in social and cultural contexts
3   Learns new approaches to child protection in sports
4   Becomes aware of how to establish contact, communication and bond with children in the physical education environment and sports field.
5   Gains a perspective that prioritizes their health and well-being with an athlete/student/child-centered and rights-based approach.
