Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide graduate students with a comprehensive understanding of the Schoolwide Enrichment Model (SEM), which is one of the most widely implemented models in the education of gifted students. The course focuses on identifying the needs of gifted learners, developing enriched and differentiated teaching practices, and designing schoolwide programs that foster talent development for all students.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explain the core components of the Schoolwide Enrichment Model (SEM).
2   Analyze the theoretical foundations of the model.
3   Identify the characteristics and needs of gifted individuals.
4   Evaluate the process of integrating SEM practices into school environments.
5   Design application plans addressing the needs of gifted learners.
6   Select appropriate strategies, tools, and resources within the SEM framework.
7   Discuss effective collaboration strategies with teachers and school administrators.
8   Conduct case analyses based on real school scenarios.
9   Evaluate the implementation process of SEM.
10   Develop inclusive and differentiated instructional plans.
