Course Objective

This course aims to introduce the theoretical foundations of folklore studies, explore various theories and approaches developed over time, discuss their impact on folklore research, and analyze how these theories are applied particularly in the context of Turkey.

2   Can distinguish major theories and approaches.
3   Can apply theoretical approaches to concrete examples of folk culture.
