Course Objective

This course aims to introduce realistic/applied, educational, contextual, epistemological, and socio-critical perspectives on mathematical modelling, conceptualize mathematical modelling through these perspectives, and examine studies in the literature that adopt these perspectives.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learn mathematical modelling perspectives.
2   Examine the concept of modelling within the framework of different mathematical modelling perspectives.
3   Review national and international literature that adopt different mathematical modelling perspectives.
4   Design academic studies that adopt different mathematical modelling perspectives.
