Course Objective

The aim of this course is to examine historically the educational policies, practices, and social impacts related to women s education within the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Turkey from the Tanzimat Era to the present. Students will gain the ability to analyze the development process of women s education, encountered obstacles, reforms, and changing gender roles.

2   Can analyze the impact of educational policies on women in different periods..
3   Can evaluate the concept of gender equality in education through historical examples.
4   Can identify the factors affecting women's access to education.
