Course Objective

The aim of this course is to analyze the historical development, pedagogical value, content structure, and ideological orientations of history curricula and textbooks. Students will learn to critically evaluate history curricula and textbooks

1   1. Analyzes the goals and structures of history curricula from different periods
2   2. Evaluates the content, visuals, and language of textbooks from a pedagogical perspective
3   3. Identifies ideological elements in history textbooks
4   4. Interprets the current history curriculum within a critical thinking framework
5   5. Discusses the necessity of alternative and inclusive historical narratives
