Course Objective

The aim of this course is to understand the theories and hypotheses of foreign and second language acquisition and, based on this understanding, contribute to contemporary foreign language teaching. Additionally, the course aims to interpret and explain the conditions for foreign language acquisition based on linguistic, behaviorist, cognitive, and interactionist learning theories.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understands the hypotheses and theories of foreign language acquisition.
2   Grasps the theories of second language acquisition.
3   Is familiar with the phases of foreign language acquisition in the context of these theories.
4   Can interpret the process of second language acquisition.
5   Recognizes the hypotheses and theories of language acquisition and can compare their differences.
