Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide students with a theoretical and practical foundation in the teaching of literature within the context of teaching German as a foreign language. Students will explore the aims, methods, and challenges of literature teaching and learn how to transform literary texts into meaningful and engaging teaching practices.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Define literature didactics as an academic discipline
2   Explain the aims and functions of literature instruction
3   Analyze the concepts of reading socialization and literary socialization
4   Examine various literary genres (epic, dramatic, lyrical, and media texts) from a didactic perspective
5   Evaluate teaching methods and task formats used in literature instruction
6   Design lesson plans based on the phases of literature teaching
