Course Objective

To understand the processes of language acquisition and language education in more detail in the context of applied linguistics, to learn the direct use of applied linguistics in the field of translation studies, to understand the relationship between language and society in the context of idioms and proverbs in language, to develop knowledge, skills, thoughts and consciousness regarding the processes and developments of multilingualism, language policies, language institutions, word derivations in language and simplicity and maintenance in language.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understands the processes of foreign language acquisition and foreign language education in more detail in the context of applied linguistics.
2   Can extract the main areas of applied linguistics and the connections between the fields
3   Learn the use of applied linguistics in the field of translation studies
4   Understands the relationship between language and society
5   Learn the relationship between language and society in the context of idioms and proverbs in the German language.
6   Knows simplicity and maintenance processes in German language
7   Learn the word formation methods of the German language
