Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to examine the syntax structure of Turkish and to teach students the linguistic theories necessary to analyze Turkish sentence structures.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. Understands the syntax rules of Turkish.
2   2. Be able to make linguistic analysis of Turkish sentence structures.
3   3. Evaluates the syntactic differences in Turkish and the effects of these differences on meaning.
4   4. Correctly defines sentence types and the functions of elements within a sentence.
5   5. Gain in-depth knowledge of element order and sentence construction in Turkish.
6   6. Be able to apply syntax theories and approaches in Turkish.
