Course Objective

The aim of this course is to examine different theoretical and methodological approaches to the grammatical structure of the Turkish language and to discuss the problems of correctly understanding and explaining the grammatical features of Turkish. Students will examine the historical development of approaches to Turkish grammar and the differences between these approaches.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. Understands the basic structures and rules of Turkish grammar.
2   2. Compare theoretical approaches to Turkish grammar.
3   3. Can analyze linguistic problems in Turkish grammar.
4   4. Can examine the grammatical features of Turkish from different theoretical perspectives.
5   5. Gain in-depth knowledge of the morphological, syntactic and semantic structures of the Turkish language.
6   6. Discuss the application areas of linguistic approaches to the Turkish language.
