Course Objective

This course aims to examine how gender is represented in language and literary texts from historical and theoretical perspectives, and to equip students with a critical reading skill based on gender awareness.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explains the concept of gender within historical and theoretical frameworks.
2   Analyzes how gender roles are represented in literary texts.
3   Critically evaluates the role of language in the construction of gender.
4   Applies gender-based literary criticism approaches.
5   Compares gender representations in texts from different historical periods and cultures.
