Course Objective

The aim of this course is to define children and adolescents at risk, to examine the psychosocial, environmental and biological risk factors faced by these individuals and to teach effective intervention methods used when working with individuals in this group.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Defines children and adolescents at risk and explains the characteristics of this group.
2   Analyzes psychosocial, biological and environmental risk factors in children and adolescents.
3   Applies effective intervention methods used in working with children and adolescents at risk.
4   Develops protective strategies for children and adolescents at risk.
5   Identifies the psychological needs of children and adolescents at risk and provides appropriate support and guidance.
