Course Objective

This course aims to explore the intersections of gender and translation, introducing the central concepts and theories of gender-conscious approaches to translation. Students will critically analyze how gendered perspectives shape translation strategies and contribute to broader socio-political discourses.

1   Understand key concepts and theories in gender and translation studies.
2   Analyze feminist translation practices and their impact on textual representation.
3   Have a critical awareness of current issues in relation to gender and translation in relation to politics, religion, literature, science, etc.

5   Design and conduct a gender-oriented translation research project.
