Course Objective

The aim of this course is to contribute students develop their knowledge about disasters, disaster nursing, to
learn their roles and responsibilities, to learn and manage the characteristics of disaster preparation, intervention
and recovery period.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explains the definition and concepts of disasters.
2   Knows disaster risk management and organizations around the world.
3   Defines disaster nursing, disaster management, and the roles and responsibilities in disasters.
4   Knows the needs of vulnerable groups in disasters and implements nursing interventions.
5   Explains the effects of disasters on health and the nursing interventions to be implemented.
