Course Objective

To establish the conceptual framework on the sociology of religious movements within the framework of the Islamic Sects perspective and to recognize the religious movements and groups that emerged in Türkiye from the establishment of the Republic to the present day.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The student learns the changes experienced by religion and religious groups in Turkey's modernization process.
2   The student recognizes the religious movements that have been active in Turkey since the establishment of the Republic.
3   Students will be able to analyze the reflections of the religious movements that emerged in the first periods of the Republic.
4   The student gains sociological theories and approaches on religious movements and movements.
5   Student evaluates the impact of religious movements that emerged in the first period of the Republic on the present day.
