Course Objective

The aim of this course is to examine the legal developments concerning the protection of intellectual property rights such as trademarks, patents, and copyrights in the context of digitalization and emerging technologies. The course specifically focuses on the impact of recent technological advancements on intellectual property law, including works and inventions generated by artificial intelligence, blockchain-based NFTs, digital content platforms, 3D printing, cloud computing, robotics, and the Internet of Things.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To understand the fundamental concepts of trademarks, patents, and copyrights, and their relationship with technology.
2   To analyze how intellectual property rights are protected in digital environments
3   To understand the connection between NFTs and copyright
4   To evaluate the status of works and inventions produced by artificial intelligence
5   To examine and compare national and international frameworks of intellectual property law
6   To identify examples of intellectual property right infringement specific to digital environment
